About me

Hi, I'm Katharina!

the creative force behind the scenes

Born in '92 in Germany, I wear many hats – from being a devoted mom and wife to a crazy cat lady and a secret superhero by night (shh, don't tell!). With a background in crafting art for video games, I've journeyed through pixels and polygons, studying media informatics & interactive entertainment along the way. From graphics design to concept art, I've danced through the realms of virtual worlds. But since becoming a mom, I've found my heart in the pages of children's books. Putting a smile on children's faces has since become increasingly fulfilling. My hobbies are drawing (d'uh!), cooking, reading, playing the ukulele, table top games, RPGs,  and spending a lot of time with my son and husband.

For more than 7 years, I've been working with international clients on a range of projects, gathering experience in diverse areas such as graphics design, concept art, 2D art, children's books illustration, and comics. My prefered working method is digitally using photoshop or procreate, but I also love traditional art! Check out my portfolio for more. 2016

2D Artist, Fluffy Fairy Games Gmbh (Today known as Kolibri Games GmbH)


Concept Design, Character Design, Environment Design, GUI Design & Animations for the mobile game Idle Miner Tycoon, almost entirely by myself up until its release.


2017-2020 

Graphics Designer, Kalypso Media Group GmbH


In this position, I worked for a gaming publisher and designed (for digital use and print) packaging material, game store assets, social media content, booths for international events, Logos, did small animations and contributed a few 2D Assets to the game Railway Empire.

Comic Creator for "KathaComics"


As the pandemic hit the world, I became more involved in my own comic page on instagram, that shows a little of my everyday life with my husband in a funny, cute and relatable way.

Artist for children's illustration, private projects


During the pandemic I started supporting friends and their children mentally through isolation with my illustrations and since I became a mother in 2022, I am illustrating for kids even more frequently. 


2021-2022

I worked on the games Good Company, KISS Meeting Me, and KISS Cinnamon Sky and was responsible for Concept Art, the general Game Look, 2D Assets, Props, Characters, Icons, Portraits and Avatars, Cover Artworks and marketing material.

Main Menu Background Illustration, as well as Comic Intro for the game Muchacho Bean.
